Mercury is Retrograde and we are hanging in there upside down like bats, on the underside of the Cosmic Lemniscate.  Personally, I have been challenged with my modem crashing and having to revert to dial up.  Adaptability is my middle name so that’s okay. It just means everything gets slowed down a bit which is a good thing. I am sometimes too easily seduced by the urgency virus that infects us humans occasionally. Creative work on the Domain has slowed down too. Yet, you now have FOUR chapters of Pendulum Edition 3, updated and available as PDF on that Page. Amazing this retro stuff – a grand time to sort out lots from the past and update to the present. 

I received an email this morning about work place practises and how the crazy push/pull go-get-it mentality is fading as we rethink the Quality of Life rather than the quantity of – money, status, power, urgency, drive, ambition, approval, prestige, …all very appropriate for this phase of our celestial weather. Wonderful to see humans at last realising that we do NOT want to evolve as a slave worker species.  Our heritage of aeons of evolution and progress is designed to ease the labour, not intensify it.
 
Mercury has re-entered Aquarius and joined the stellium there so the cognitive emphasis is once again on how we humans think. February 28th we reach the peak of Neptune in Aquarius (Human Spirit) opposing Saturn retrograde in Leo (old hierarchical patterns). There are so many interpretations of this opposition. I sense it is about bringing our dreams into reality. The old- stilted and often harsh teachings were that ‘reality’ is yuk and ‘dreams’ are fairy floss. This is an extension of a core belief that Life at its most ‘real’ is horrible and that we humans just have to wake up to it and stop dreaming and wishing for something better.

What if being real IS the ‘better’ way of being and living? Every culture and creed, every race and belief system has taught that God is Good. Then let’s choose it.We CAN choose the simpler, most caring, most efficient, most healthy and loving way of living. We CAN choose Quality of Life. We CAN choose to STOP warring and violence and greed and exploitation and corruption and dishonesty and deception.

In FACT, (reality) no-one else can choose it for us. And maybe that’s what has been happening for too long – praying and waiting for God, Goddess, angels, benevolent ET’s, Ancestor spirits, Faeries, Masters, Avatars, Messiah … to come here and DO it for us. Yes, they guide and encourage and comfort us. But we are here, now and it IS our Human choice. We CAN choose to manifest (Saturn) the Divine(Neptune) into our world. They are only ‘opposite’ looking from one end to the other. Seen from the holographic, they are just different perspectives.

These pillars of Saturn and Neptune flank a doorway of consciousness, a vortex that winds all the way through to July/August 2013. It is the closing of one cycle and the opening of the other. Each step we take, each expansion and purposeful directing of our own conscious growth, leaves behind what was and opens us to the Becoming.

The first Eclipse of the year is connecting the Pisces/Virgo axis on March 4th. That’s Sunday morning around 10.16 am AEDT here in the old Lemurian Land of Oz. We enter a mini corridor (within a larger Cosmic vortex) until September this year. The Pisces/Virgo axis is the epitome of the idea of Spirit in Matter.

How many people on the planet wear jewellery made of ‘precious’ stones? Then there are all those who have pet stones and rocks and minerals for healing. Or just think about the mineral tablets we take for health. Light crystallised into matter. How superbly organised our world of Nature is!?

The ‘discovery’ of the ‘possible’ bones of Jeshua and family is an astrological cliché. Divine synchronicity indeed. We have lots upon which to ponder until Spring (Southern hemisphere –September).

It is time to retreat in order to replenish ourselves. From today, the 19th February until 19th March, we are in the realm of Pisces, of the Spirit, of the spark of the Divine within.

If we were truly in touch with nature and in tune with the wider Universe and our livingness within it, we would all be on holy-days for the next month. We would be conscious that we have entered a time of contemplation and reflection. Yes, the whole of Humanity!

Mercury is retrograde until 9/10th March. This means our intellect is misfiring. It stays in Pisces until 19th March so when our mental focus IS outwardly directed again, it speaks from the soul. For now, we are able to ponder inwardly and uncover much that has been stored in our unconscious. Layer upon layer is peeling away.

Intensifying this process we will have Saturn opposing Neptune on 28th February; then two Eclipses along the Virgo/Pisces axis with the second culminating on the 19th March.

Think of a veiled archway. We are parting the mists and peering through. As our eyes adjust we can see far into the depths beyond. We can float gently along the corridors of our minds and discover the gems within.

Venus in Aries until the 19th of March is our torch to Light the Way. She ignites our courage for we are brave souls, willing and able to venture into new territory. Yes, the Unknown beckons and the Mysteries of Life are more relevant now than the outer world.

We shall return to that Outer World. We will be able to be organised and practical and participate in intelligent activity once again. This is just a cycle, a rhythm in time. For now, the emotional and spiritual calls us.

If we deny this natural magnetic pull within, emotional frustration may emerge. If we resist further, the body rebels. It IS a teary time. It IS a time of inner growth- the challenge to know ourselves and the inner realms.

So keep a journal of dreams, notice the thoughts and feelings that float to the surface. Allow the cave of the Self to embrace you.

SShhhhh! Reduce the OUTput to necessity and priority. Be kind, be gentle. There will be many confused and wandering souls. Renew yourself like the wise Master who respects the tides and rhythms of Life and knows the simplicity of flowing with them.

This is a time of entering the Cave of Initiation for Humanity.

The Pluto in Virgo group born 1957 to 1972 will hear the toning of the bell. By September 19th, they shall emerge again, knowing their Purpose in the wider unfolding Evolutionary Plan. They will lead and be led by, the new species, the Children of Light.

Humanity is on the threshold.

People, animals, trees, flowers, insects?  Oh yes, and planes, buildings, cars, roads, shops and boats. 
 
It reminds me of the Lemurian Era.  A firmament surrounded the planet.  Sound was muffled. It was misty and ethereal with breezes that lifted and carried wisps of cloud amongst the trees and abundant foliage.  Sunlight was filtered through the vegetation. It was the time of the Dominance of the Plant Kingdom.
 
Humans and animals were only just beginning.
 
Now here we are in this time and space: The time of Human Dominance. The Age of Animal growth witnessed a great clearing and refinement of the plant kingdom. The Age of Humans has likewise, changed the Animal, Plant and Mineral kingdoms.
 
Mercury is in its first of three cycles of retrograde motion. We are retreating inwards to contemplate and reflect – the intensity of outer world events, changing climate patterns and pressures to ‘keep on keeping on’ exhausts us. **
 
This Friday 16 February, is World Kyoto Day.  According to the Media release, the Australian Youth Climate Coalition is acting on very real concerns about the pollution we tolerate and seem to blindly accept:
‘Groups of young people in 20 cities across Australia will deliver the declaration to their local MPs’ electorate offices and hand out leaflets in shopping malls on World Kyoto Day.’ ***
 
The debates continue across the world about whether our human activities and lifestyle are causing climate change, or whether this is nature’s cyclical dance. The evidence that our whole solar system is changing is definitely there.
 
Perhaps it is a natural cycle, as we enter a ‘Galactical Summer’. The sheltering Ozone layer and the ability of nature to adapt IS built into the system. OUR human ability to adapt, or become extinct, is part of the process. The real issue seems to be whether we make it worse, by perpetuating what we know is unwise activity in the face of evidence that we need to change for our own survival. The reluctance to change, to grow and to recreate is a very real concern, for it indicates a species locked into dead end maze.
 
This Sunday in the early hours of the morn, is the New Moon in Aquarius. It is a Fixed sign and it challenges all Fixed sign folk and forms on the planet. What doesn’t give a little – breaks. This weekend then is a good time to ponder upon why we have perpetuated this dichotomy between civilisations and the world of nature. Is it really about nature versus us?  Can our modern lifestyle and activities be created and designed to be eco friendly?
 
By dawn on the 18th February, the Moon moves into Pisces and then on the 19th the Sun joins  a stellium of 6 foci of energy in the watery Piscean realm. With Saturn opposite Neptune, the ethereal nature is strong. Yet reality anchors so much there in Leo. What is real and what is unreal? What is True and what is false?
 
On the 21st February, Venus joins the Moon in Aries, leading the charge into the next annual solar cycle.
 
The Youth Climate Coalition are a brave clan of young folk. They may well be campaigning to state the obvious, that we humans need to ‘think again’. How appropriate for Mercury retrograde?  May the heavens support these caring and mindful souls.

We enjoy an immense diversity of festivals and traditions on our planet. As we gradually merge into a Global village, some of these traditions take on a more Universal flavour. February 14th is the tradition of Valentine’s Day. It was originally designed for women who sought a partner, to approach the free men of the tribe/clan/village with an invitation to romance. My own memory includes women being able to propose marriage. If the man refused, he had to buy the lady in question a pair of white gloves. Since I am now officially in the ‘impossible’ age group for marriage proposals, I’m not sure what I would do with a pair of white gloves.  If they’re cotton I suppose I could clean with them. If they are winter gloves – fine, I can use those. Gardening white gloves seem a tad impractical. Ho hum, methinks I’ll just muse about it all from a distance. Zooming out to the greater Cosmos, the astrology is quite intriguing.  The heavens seem to be supporting this quaint old tradition.From the 13th to the 15th February 2007, there is a Yod formed by, yes, Venus and Mars in Sextile, both quintile (150 degrees) retrograde Saturn.  This is a perfect setup for an arranged marriage or a ‘shotgun’ wedding supervised by a stern parent. Or a classic Romeo and Juliet story. We have the (probably deliberate) synchronicity of the world wide publicity of the intertwined skeletons found recently. What a story those two could tell! A ‘Yod’ according to esoterica, is ‘the Finger of God’, the geometric design depicting our Covenant with the Divine. It links Venus (the closest mentor of the Divine within us on Urth) and Mars (the lowest common denominator of evolution residing here.)  In Mundane astrology they are depicted as female and male. In the cosmic sense, these two describe the Higher Mind (Venus) and Action (Mars). 

Women all over the world, in every culture, shake their heads in disbelief at the ‘unthinking’ behaviour of men who seem more action oriented than thoughtful. Men, complain about women talking and thinking with a reduced capacity for practical activity. Getting both together in Love and Wisdom, the overall theme of our Solar Village, is held in tension (like guy ropes to a tent), by Father Time and Fate/destiny ruling Saturn.

Saturn is in Leo, and the rulers of the world are definitely facing an increased tension between thought and action. The opportunity (sextile) is there, to bring the two together. 

Venus is in Pisces, (Spiritual Sensitivity and…rain) and here in Melbourne, Australia, we are now facing the reality of being in a rain shadow. This has most probably been aggravated by the destruction of the rainforest buffer in the Ottway ranges to our West. In the past, when those fronts swept across from Adelaide, they brought us rain. Since decimating the rainforest, we have clouds racing over the city and narry a drop of water falls. Further east, in Gippsland, 134 mm of rain fell from the same cloud mass this weekend. Thanks. Devastating for Melbourne.

Mars is in Capricorn: Governments, politics, decisions and Hierarchical actions. The thrusts in politics in USA and Australia are sparking feuds. The lads are frisky and sparring. There are lots of ways of interpreting this one. I’m sure someone will pick up on the battle between a woman and a man running for President of the USA. Here in Australia we have a man/woman team confronting the dear old- fashioned leaders in egocentric Leo. Enjoy yourselves fellow students!

My instinct, intellect and intuition combined emerges as an insight that we are facing the consequences of our actions in the past.  Saturn retrograde refers to past traditions, past patterns of behaviour, past policies of world leaders and public authorities. The sextile between Venus and Mars brings us the opportunity to correct our actions based on sentient thought. We humans see so clearly in retrospect I don’t know why evolution hasn’t grown a fourth eye in the back of our skulls.

I am deeply disturbed and concerned by the lack of rain and water in our City and surrounding countryside. I don’t need to coerce an innocent man to buy me white gloves. But I do truly, heartily seek men AND women, who are Mindful of the long term consequences of their behaviour and policies, both political AND spiritual ones. 

If I have any kind of Covenant with God, I’d like it to be simply that we commit (Saturn) to support and live in respectful harmony and Co-Creation with our planet and each other.

That would indeed, be, Divine … and it goes with white gloves.
